Temagami Dewy Point

Dewy Point (Amphibolite Peninsula)

The interpreted northeast extension of the Temagami Copper Mine Pyrite Zone lies on Dewy Point at the southwest end of Amphibolite Peninsula (Figure 6 and Figure 8). The discovery date of the Dewy Point Occurrence is undocumented but earliest reported assessment work dates to six diamond drill-holes totaling 245.36 m (805 ft) completed by Niemetz Base Metal Mines Ltd in 1951 (Assessment File 31L13NW9731). Holes 1 to 5 intersected weak to moderate sulphides (including chalcopyrite) in diorite near contact with metavolcanics. No assays were reported in logs however Ontario Mineral Deposit Inventory record MDI31L13NW00020 reports a 0.91 m (3 ft) section of core from Niemetz DDH 1 assayed 1.51% Cu and 0.33% Ni. Additional drill holes intersected Cu values ranging from 0.30% to 0.97% and nickel values ranging from 0.10% to 0.35% (MDI31L13NW00020).
